Every spring for the past 21 years high school students from all 50 states and at large competitors which in the past have included,Washington D.C. and American territories (U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands) are invited to Washington D.C. for the National Finals of We the People : the Citizen and the Constitution.
"We the People Films" brings a fresh look to civic education through all forms of media; including but not limited to a documentary reality series entitled "Citizen 2009". By traveling the country and following dedicated educators, students, lectures and scholars, WTP Films brings a non-partisan look at history and the contemporary relevance of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
It is our belief this is not only an entertaining program but it is also filled with knowledge, enlightening the audience and encouraging responsible citizenry. |
